Center offers Head Start partday services (8:00 am to 2:00 pm) for children ages 3 to 5 and in addition has a Fullday/Fullyear classroom for parents that work or go to school.
The center is licensed by the State of Texas and has the distinction of being accredited by the National Accreditation for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
The teachers use a research-based curriculum to provide instruction to the children. The Seco Mines Center has space for 93 children ages 3 to 5 and 8 spaces for children 0 to 3.
The Head Start/Early Head Start program offers educational programs for children age 0 to 5, and a wide variety of opportunities and support services for their families. Since 1965, we’ve joined with hundreds of low-income parents, from different backgrounds, to help children succeed in school, and succeed in life. The Community Services Agency of South Texas, Inc. (CSA) sponsors eight Head Start centers in a four County Area. Every one of them offers a safe, caring environment where both children and parents come to learn and grow and achieve. Some of our centers also offer Early Head Start services for parents that are working or going to school. And every Head Start program is absolutely free to qualifying participants.
